Optical Crystals for 1.3 μm All-Solid-State Passively Q-Switched Laser

In recent years, optical crystals for 1.3 μm all-solid-state passively Q-switched lasers have been widely studied due to their eye-safe band, atmospheric transmission characteristics, compactness, and low cost. They are used in the fields of high-precision laser radar, biomedical applications, fine processing. this review, we focus on three types as gain media: neodymium-doped vanadate (Nd:YVO4, Nd:GdVO4, Nd:LuVO4, aluminum-containing garnet (Nd:YAG, Nd:LuAG), gallium-containing (Nd:GGG, Nd:GAGG, Nd:LGGG). addition, other such Nd:KGW, Nd:YAP, Nd:YLF, Nd:LLF also discussed. First, introduce properties abovementioned crystals. Then, advances domestic foreign research these summarized. Finally, future challenges development trend proposed. We believe review will provide a comprehensive understanding lasers.
